This kind of data gives us a more realistic feeling for just how prolific car related deaths occur and remind us to be reminded: be safe out there!  Most of the time a very large part of the solution for cyclists and drivers it is up to us, as tragically few of these are unpreventable “accidents”.  This leads me to one of the latest Seattle-area car-bike fatalities that was unfortunately labelled an accident. http://seattlebikeblog.com/2011/12/08/suspected-drunk-driver-kills-person-biking-in-kirkland/.
